Director of Volunteer Services
About: Lyngblomsten is looking for an energetic individual to join our team as the Director of Volunteer Services. This position is 40 hours per week (benefit eligible). This individual will report to the Vice President of Human Resources. The main objective of this position is to organize, coordinate, and facilitate all volunteer programs and services while engaging corporations into an active relationship with Lyngblomsten.
The posted pay range of this exempt position is $49,000 to $64,500 annually. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Volunteer Services Department (3)
- Recruit, interview and orient volunteers for all Lyngblomsten departments & programs
- Receive request for volunteers from all areas of Lyngblomsten on campus and in the communities we serve. Schedule or arrange for volunteer programs & services
- Coordinate the appropriate maintenance and updating of all volunteer data
- Provide for volunteer evaluation and recognition
- Coordinate continuing education for volunteers and staff
- Coordinate written communications to volunteers through Lyngblomsten publications and Volunteer Programs & Services Newsletter
- Coordinate maintenance of a centralized area for volunteer’s personal items, name pins and general information
- Develop a corporate engagement process as well as connections with community, civic, social and religious organizations. Promote good public relations for Lyngblomsten volunteers.
Qualifications:
- BA or equivalent experience
- Desire to enhance the well-being of older adults
- Experience working with volunteers
- Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and the desire to actively engage learners
- Demonstrates a professional, welcoming and hospitable demeanor as an ambassador of Lyngblomsten
- Self-motivated, independent worker with ability to be part of a team
- Knowledge of computer programs such a Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher and data base systems, preferably Volgistics.
