The Gathering Program Facilitator

Lyngblomsten is looking to fill a brand new role, The Gathering Program Facilitator. This passionate, self-motivated individual will be responsible for leading Lyngblomsten Community Services dementia group respite program, The Gathering. This is a full-time, 32 hour per week position with workdays consisting of Monday-Thursday, that floats between two campuses. The facilitator will create a supportive and engaging environment for individuals living with dementia, providing meaningful activities and respite for their caregivers.

Reports to: Respite Coordinator

Qualifications:

· Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Music Therapy, Gerontology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or related field

· Preferred experience: 5 years of leading activities with individuals living with dementia

· Preferred experience: 3 years of volunteer supervision

· Team player with strong problem solving and assessment skills (physical, mental, social)

· Demonstrates leadership and administrative abilities, with good planning and organizational skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office

· Must have a valid Drivers License 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate The Gathering group respite program by leading engaging activities such as arts/crafts, active games, music, brain games, exercise, and table games.

2. Assist in supervising The Gathering volunteers

3. Be a collaborative team member and contribute to the ongoing development of The Gathering, Caregiver Services, and Community Services
