Director of Life Long Learning and the Arts
Lyngblomsten Care Center is a Christian nonprofit organization located in the Como Park/ Midway Neighborhood of St. Paul.
Lyngblomsten currently has a Full-Time (40 hours per week) position for a Director of Lifelong Learning and the Arts who will help carry forward Lyngblomsten’s mission by ensuring a robust presence of quality opportunities for those we serve through leading the sourcing of artists and education opportunities, negotiating contracts, coordinating logistics, and executing classes and arts experiences. The hallmark of this position is collaborating with program directors while building arts and lifelong learning partnerships to integrate enrichment programming for residents, tenants, and community participants.
The posted pay range of this hourly position is $60,000 to $75,000 annually. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in fine art, arts therapy, music, music therapy, theater, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of management/leadership experience in the aging fields of lifelong learning, the arts or creative aging, therapeutic recreation, or related field.
Experience in program development and execution. - Demonstrated ability to network and build professional partnerships within an organization and throughout the greater arts and lifelong learning community.
Successful grant writing and administrative experience a plus. - Experience and engagement with the Twin Cities arts community, Arts related teaching experience a plus.
- Passion for the role lifelong learning and the arts play in healthy aging and quality of life for older adults
Duties
- Work with identified Lyngblomsten entities (e.g., senior housing, care center, and community services) to consult and develop annual arts and learning goals and the strategies necessary to achieve desired outcomes and impact.
- Equip staff to accomplish their program’s arts and lifelong learning goals, including finding artists and instructors and assisting with departments’ program/event logistics as needed by internal partners.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute cross-organizational arts and lifelong learning opportunities that engage community participants, residents and tenants.
- Actively seek to develop strategic community partnerships to achieve goals.
- Seek opportunities to develop strategic community partnerships to achieve goals
- Incorporate the use of volunteers where appropriate and provide ongoing support and training, including extensive training and growth for Arts with you volunteers.
- Establish evidence-based practices and evaluative methodologies for arts and learning initiatives and programs.
