Lyngblomsten Care Center is a Christian nonprofit organization located in the Como Park/ Midway Neighborhood of St. Paul.

Lyngblomsten currently has a Full-Time (40 hours per week) position for a creative, energetic, and organized Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator to work with our residents in our Memory Care neighborhood. This position reports to the Therapeutic Recreation Director.

The posted pay range of this hourly position is $19.55 to $29.79. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field preferred.
  • CTRS preferred. Activities Program Certified Credential also encouraged, but not required. 
  • New graduates encouraged to apply!
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the human services field, preferably in a long-term care or memory care setting.
  • Experience conducting Recreation and leisure programs for older adults in long term care.
  • Experience with leisure assessments, progress notes and care plans.
  • Experience with utilizing Point Click Care and MDS 3.0.
  • Will be driving the campus bus on monthly outings and must have a good driving record.  A standard driver’s license is required to drive the bus.

Duties

  • Plan and conduct a balanced therapeutic recreation program based on the needs and interests of residents: including 1:1’s.
  • Holds a caseload of 60 residents for Long-Term Care documentation 
  • Attends weekly care conferences and IDT Meetings
  • Plans and implements quality and innovative Recreation and leisure programs for 225 residents at Lyngblomsten Care Center 
  • Creates the Monthly Program Calendar for 2nd Floor residents 
  • Communicate, work, and plan cooperatively with other Therapeutic Recreation coordinators, neighborhood staff, and other departments.
  • Prepares, arranges for, and cleans up after all activities conducted.
  • Ask residents to do activities of interest and assist them to get there.
  • Keep daily activity attendance records.
  • Supervise volunteers assigned to an area and assist as needed.
  • Use good public relations techniques throughout total job functions.
  • Keep a positive attitude.
